Solo with dance and text. Dance treated as a documentary; balancing the observation of a documentary maker with the revealing of the dancing body, being moved at the same time by that what is being documented.
Lily Kiarais dance artist / singer-songwriter / poet / teacher. Currently, she is working on a new full length performance ‘I AM A FISH’ derived from the ongoing project ‘Singing to use the waiting’, in which she investigates stillness and urgency through poems by Jorie Graham. Her work is often developed with musicians who play live on stage.
She has released 3 solo albums and now has her own independent label for music and poetry Sibyl Sings. In 2006 she started the band Songs & Poems, a bold mix of acoustic folk/pop, poetry and improvised music.
